Love, Again
Oh, Hello Fellow Joy Keepers!
It’s so good to see you this week. What a week it’s been. In the midst of the commedia dell’evil that plagues our news, feeds and streets, something big happened this weekend. Big, big. I know I’m not the only one still processing it.
This right here
You FELT it too, right? That halftime show. Those opening acts. That energy, that unity, that celebration, those surprises, the 2-legged grasses, those beats, that America, that LOVVVVVEEE. The love the love the love the love the love the love. Even the game kind of felt good versus evil-ish. And would you believe it? Good had the upper hand the whole time.
Aye!
Who else was weeping at the end? Ugly crying? The only thing more powerful than hate is LOVE?
Aye, Aye, Aye Benito!
I’m riding this love train until we refuel at the next stop. Who’s with me?
More to Love
Olympic Curling
Does anyone ever really lose in curling? It’s just the nicest sport. Canadian nice. Midwest nice. There are sensible shoes. It’s so quiet you can hear stones crack, but there’s also screaming. A lot of screaming. And brooms. Stones whose job is to get on back to the house. There’s a literal scheduled snack break. And who can forget the wonder that is the Norwegians and their pants? The pants, who to this very day have a thriving facebook account!
Flowers for the Revolution
Last week I went to a workshop at a local florist. Under a canopy of drying flower bunches, we made protest art with tiny dried blooms and leaves. There was community, color, good conversation. Did I mention it was a fundraiser for a Memphis organization supporting immigrant communities facing ICE enforcement? As of a couple days ago they met their fundraising goal, but wouldn’t it be cool to help them raise more? You can order your own dried flower protest art kit on their website. Tell em’ I sent you!
The Hate Myth
I saw this post on Instagram the other day and I was shook. I couldn’t get it out of my mind. The message is simple but, woof…it’s big: Do not let hate decide who you become. Let yourself marinate in that for a bit. If you can, give it a watch, it’s worth it. His voice is calm and steady, and from what I can see, he’s got some beautiful wisdom to share from his spot behind the wheel as a driver.
It’s the Year of the Horse
I’m enamoured with this vision: As we move out of the year of the snake, we shed what isn’t meant for us anymore. We enter into the year of the fire horse (February 17) and we burn all that old stuff away. Shedding to becoming to embodying to thriving. What would happen if we all…believed? Then, well…BECAME? I’m absolutely in.
I’ve added some Year of the Horse art prints to the shop:
Year of the Whimsical Horse Prints
And the original art on wood:
Power Songs for Joy Keepers

Good Words for the Week
America - It’s an adaptable, expansive, color-full word with lots of pronunciations.
Twizzle - It’s not just an ice dancing twirl! You can replace A LOT of verbs with “twizzle” to great joyful effect. Twizzle on that for a minute.
Love - only the thing that will save us, the word of a lifetime.
That’s all for this week Joy Keepers!
Happy Valentine’s Day to you and yours <3
Keep spreading the love,
